Teenager bitten by pet python
A Melbourne teenager has been caught in a terrifying tangle with a pet python.
Cyril the snake bit 15-year-old Kevin before wrapping itself tightly around the teenager's arm.
Paramedics were called to help extricate the five-foot long Black-headed Python from Kevin's arm because it refused to let go.
Student paramedic Elizabeth said Kevin was quite distressed when they arrived at his Dingley home because the snake's tight squeeze was causing his arm to change colour.
"He was quite distressed and had small puncture marks to his arm," she said.
"The snake had started to relax by the time we arrived so he and his mum were able to detach it and force it back into the tank – quite a harrowing experience for my partner and I."
Paramedics cleaned Kevin's wound, but he did not need hospital treatment.
