A man who was photographed driving at high speed with his feet sticking out of the window has contacted Victoria Police.
The P-plater was seen driving down the Eastern Freeway in Melbourne at around 7am on Monday morning.
A shocked motorist took the photo and said the man was speeding.
He said he put his feet back into the vehicle before he entered the Eastlink tunnel.
Police said yesterday they had identified the owner of the vehicle and they were requesting the driver to turn himself in.
They have confirmed that the man had ‘made contact’ with them but didn’t elaborate on whether he was to be charged.

It comes as the national road toll rose to 20 after two people died in Western Australia yesterday.

Meanwhile, a teenager involved in a horror crash that claimed the lives of an elderly couple is said to be improving.
The 14-year-old was one of five family members taken to hospital following the single-vehicle crash 6km north of Holbrook in southern NSW on Wednesday.
A husband and wife, both aged 70 and visiting from Fiji, also died when the seven-seater Nissan Patrol left the Hume Highway and rolled about 6.55am (AEDT).
The teenager suffered head injuries in the accident however his condition improved overnight and he's now in a stable condition.
