Car cams catch out drivers

Motorists are increasingly using mounted cameras in their cars, and when things go wrong on the road, handing the video to police and insurance companies.

In one instance, a driver, who was hit from behind at high speed, struggled to stay on the road as an out-of-control car flashed past him and slammed into a concrete barrier.

A camera mounted on his windscreen captured all the action and was vital in the post-smash investigation.

He is just one of an increasing number of drivers using motion-activated mounted cameras to capture dangerous road incidents while they are behind the wheel.
