Police are concerned for the safety of a missing 63-year-old grandmother who recently arrived in Australia.

Tamara Shadrina left a property on Compton Street in Reservoir last night, telling her granddaughter's roommate that she was going for a walk.

Ms Shadrina is Russian and has recently arrived in Australia.

She does not not speak English and does not know anyone else in the area.

Police say Ms Shadrina is not totally unfamiliar with the area, having previously walked to Edwardes Lake and Coles supermarket on Spring Street, Reservoir.

Ms Shadrina is around 160cm tall with a thin build, short dark grey hair, light brown eyes, and she also walks with a distinct limp.

She was wearing dark blue pants, a white and green t-shirt, grey jacket and slippers when she disappeared.

Anyone with information about Ms Shadrina's whereabouts should call triple 0.
