The occupants of the home, including a 10-month-old child, had fled just hours earlier after receiving a number of threats.
The home belonged to a Today Tonight viewer who had come forward with vital information in response to the program's Fightback campaign.
Police allege a woman who had also provided information to the Fightback campaign is responsible for igniting the blaze.
