81-year-old Father Henry Byrne and his elderly neighbour Father Thomas Smith had a fight over a parking spot in a Perth suburb last November.

In court today a magistrate fined the biting priest $1000 but did not record a conviction.

The defence was that the priest was showing signs of dementia.
