In a world exclusive, Today Tonight has aired founder L Ron Hubbard explaining the story of Xenu the alien.
It's been scientology's most fiercely guarded secret - but not any more.
In this audio tape, the founder of the organisation says: "there is a base on this planet and it so shredded away as to be hardly recognisable."
The tape was recorded in 1968 as Scientology founder L Ron Hubbard gave a lecture to the faithful.
Kate Ceberano's parents raised her from birth as a scientologist. She is an operating thetan level vii (the same level as John Travolta).
However, it is believed only about 10 per cent of scientologists are told the story of the Evil alien warlord Xenu.
"I've never heard of it, in all my three generations worth," Cebranno said recently on Channel Nine's Mornings with Kerri-Anne.
"I think people confuse L Ron Hubbard's science fiction works with his philosophic and religious works."
Kate Ceberano and her husband Lee Rogers maintain they know nothing of Xenu, but Hollywood star Jason Beghe does.
Mr Bege has had roles in high-rating US dramas Melrose Place, Chicago Hope, and more recently, CSI: NY and N3mbers.
He has starred in blockbuster feature films such as Thelma and Louise and G.I. Jane.
The actor left Scientology last year after 13 years, and now one of the organisations most vocal critics.
Bege is one of several high-ranking former scientologists that have told Today Tonight that this audio recording is authentic.
"Is it during OT 3, Operating Thetan Level Three, that level of study that they hit you with the story about Xenu the alien?," Mr Bege said.
"That's when you first come into contact with the Xenu story."
According to Hubbard, it all began with an alien leader named Xenu, on a planet which formed a galactic federation with 21 adjacent stars and 75 other planets.
He goes on to say that after a revolt, Xenu collected the renegade aliens, or Thetans:
"... and they threw 'em into collection points, boxed them up in boxes, threw 'em into space planes, which are the exact, dc8, the dc8 aeroplane is the exact copy of the space plane of that day."
They then travelled to the planet teegeak, more commonly referred to as Earth.
"The length of time it from the planet koltis to the planet teegeak, which is the name of this planet, was nine weeks and you'll see that it's many light years, koltis is one of the planets, and is to this day, one of the planets of the north star... and they dumped 'em and they set off hydrogen bombs from the top of each primary volcano there is on this particular planet," Hubbard says.
Scientology promises it can teach you how to control matter, energy, space and time, however none of the organisation's members has ever achieved it.
Mr Bege gets very upset when these claims are put to him.
"If scientology is real then something's f..ked up. Cause it ain't delivering what it's promised, that's for god damn sure."
In other lectures, Hubbard explains how Christianity is a false belief probably invented by a madman who found pieces of intergalactic information in 660 BC.
Also, that there is no God.
Hubbard says that when we die, we are 'implanted' with the 'God myth' before being sent back to earth to live our next life.
He also teaches that only scientologists have the power to save mankind in the intergalactic war that is coming.
"...xenu was put with several of his cohorts in the centre of a mountain which is still on one of these planets in a wire cage which is charged with an eternal battery."
He warns his faithful not to talk about Xenu the alien or their own 'secret power'.
"...you musn't go around talking about being the people who are going to save the planet. You are the people the planet obeys. You are the people who own the planet."
Instead of saying that, this is what all scientologists are trained to say.
"L Ron Hubbard, the founder says if it works for you and it's true for you, then that's really what it's all about," Cebrano told Kerri-Anne.
Of course people are free to believe whatever they like. The problem here is the lies and secrecy about what scientologists are taught to believe.
