A 61-year-old pensioner is living the dream for next to nothing, residing in a new home every few weeks and travelling the world for free.
Francien Daniels-Webb is homeless but she couldn't be happier.
In 2011 the retired schoolteacher was faced with the challenge of trying to live on $225 a week.More stories from Today Tonight
"There was no way I could find anything reasonable to live in," said Daniels-Webb.
Daniels-Webb was optimistic and took action by first giving away virtually all her possessions.
She decided to become a professional house and pet sitter, and she's been in hot demand for the past two years.
Daniels-Webb has been enjoying the trappings of other people's homes without the expense and looking after pets while their owners were on holiday.
Her gamble with homelessness was so successful Daniels-Webb hasn't had a break between house sits and is booked up until next August.
Ruth Myers is the co-owner and founder of the Happy Housesitters website - an Australia wide agency linking sitters and homeowners.
"She's got a very close affinity with animals so that certainly makes her a very good house sitter. She has common sense, she looks after other people's possessions in the way she would want her possessions looked after - that's all you really need," Myers said.
"Grey nomads are people who are travelling around and perhaps want a little bit of a break from their van or whatever it might be. It appeals to that group, it appeals to young couples who are starting out. So we've got quite a number of stories of lovely young couples who have saved enough money by house sitting because they're not paying any rent."
From suburban Caulfield to southern Tasmania, Daniels-Webb admits her nomadic lifestyle isn't for everyone but claims she's never lonely.
"I'll also be going to New Zealand and 2015 is my North and South American year. I really want to go to British Columbia - and La Fayette in New Orleans," Daniels-Webb said.
Daniels-Webb says her life is paradise on a pension.
"I win, they win, the animals win, I just love it," Daniels-Webb concluded.Contact:
