Phone scams from con men so clever few people realise they are about to hand over personal details to a criminal.

In the last year consumer affairs agencies have received more than 100,000 complaints over cold-calling frausters.

So far, $85 million has been stolen from families around the country and that's just the tip of the iceberg.
