Tailgating truck terror

There have been many recent deaths in accidents involving trucks along Australia's east coast, and one man feared he and his partner would be next.

Like a scene out of the movie Duel, Michael Scott and his partner were tailgated along with other cars by a semitrailer for more than 90 kilometres on the highway near Gympie in Queensland.

He took a long time to slow down and a few times I could hear brakes being applied,” Scott said.

“Looking through the rear-vision mirror I could see smoke coming from his tyres and I knew that he wasn't 100 per cent in control of his vehicle.”

Scott would like more motorists to record truckies doing the wrong thing, to drive home a simple message. “I think they need to back off, I think they need to take much more care.”

Doctor leaves two for dead

In a cowardly and callous act, a doctor has left two young people for dead after slamming into their car and driving off in a hit and run incident.
