But twelve months is a long time in Eden's world, and now she's back for the next chapter of her Aussie journey.
She may be tiny, but there's no mistaking beauty pageant princess Eden .
So why has she come back to Australia?More stories from Today Tonight
In her own words, it’s “because I want to do this right, yo!”
At just seven years of age, Eden is considered a beauty pageant veteran. Star of cable TV show Toddlers and Tiaras she’s back mentor her many Australian fans in the latest Universal Royalty glitz pageant.
“I'm going to teach them everything glitzy style, the pageant style and everything,” she said.
Eden's mum Mickey says many lessons were learnt from the controversy of Eden's Australian visit last year, where her management received death threat warning to stay away, and child groups campaigned to have the pageant banned, claiming it sexualised children.
“This time around you're going to be seeing the real Eden,” Mickey said.
The criticism last time was Eden was dressed like an adult, the hair was teased, and there was too much makeup. But not this time.
“That is her shtick, so to speak, but as I said she is at a different place, and it's no longer just about glitz pageants anymore. She is Eden Wood the entertainer,” Mickey said.
As Eden prepares for tomorrow's pageant with a meet and greet with the contestants, there's a lot to smile about in Eden Inc.
There’s a new CD of music, her very own cable TV show, and a Hollywood movie is in the pipeline.
