Midland hit by spate of car fires
A Midland woman awoke to find her car on fire in one of three blazes in the suburb this morning.
Police are investigating after the woman found her Toyota Corolla on fire on the driveway of her Sayer Street home at about 1.10am.
About three hours later, a person in Charles Street found their Nissan Skyline found their car on fire on their driveway.
Five minutes later, a Nissan Navara car on the same street was also set on fire.
Neighbours reported hearing a loud bang as fire in two cars raged on Charles Street.
A woman who asked not to be identified said she had been terrified to discover her mother's sedan had been set on fire just a couple of metres from the front door of their unit.
"It was pretty scary, I heard the horn going off and I've come out and seen the fire," she said.

Neighbour Don Bryant said he woke at about 4am to find two cars on fire within 50m of his home and urged his friend to call fire crews.
"I heard the neighbour's dog barking and my mate came running into my bedroom and I said 'quick call the firies'. I just thought, what's this place coming to, it's unbelievable," Mr Bryant said.
Dale Tilbrook woke to find flames coming from the driver's side of her Toyota Corolla which was parked on her driveway.
"I heard the cracking and popping and the car alarm and I'm thinking 'what is this?" She said.
"I just couldn't believe my eyes, the whole driver's side was engulfed in flames, there were flames shooting up into the air," she said.

Neighbours called fire crews, who arrived quickly and extinguished the blaze.
Ms Tilbrook said she feared he fire might spread to her home and her brother's car which was parked on the same driveway.
"The other cars were completely gutted and if this one had been completely gutted then I think our house may have been in danger," she said.
Ms Tilbrook is insured for the damage but said she now faces paying for a hire car so she can run her business in the Swan Valley.
"Three families have been impacted and it's not just the shock, it's the ongoing inconvenience and the lack of trust that comes after that," she said.
Police are continuing their investigations into the fires today.
