Children as young as eight have been taken into police custody after they allegedly committed an aggravated robbery in Perth's southeastern suburbs, with two now facing charges.
Police said a 14-year-old girl was walking through Coker Park in Cannington at about 2:30pm (WST) on Wednesday when she was approached by three boys, who surrounded her, pushed her and grabbed her backpack, causing her to swing around.
Her mobile phone was allegedly stolen after she dropped it while being pushed.
She went to a nearby business for help and police were called.
The boys were found at a nearby train station and the phone was near them in a garden bed, police claim.
A 10-year-old boy from Brookdale and an 11-year-old boy from Kenwick were both then charged with aggravated robbery and will appear in court at a date to be determined.
The third boy, aged eight, remained in police custody until a responsible adult could be found at about 10pm (WST).
He was not charged due to his age, police said.
