Teen faces charges after motorbike crash

A 17-year-old boy was taken to hospital last night after he crashed his motorcycle while allegedly trying to flee from police in South Bunbury.

Officers tried to stop the teenager as he was riding his motorcycle on Timperley Road about 9pm.

It is alleged he failed to stop, then lost control of the motorcycle and crashed as he tried to take a corner.

The teen tried to get back on the motorcycle but was stopped by a police dog.

A police spokeswoman said he was handcuffed after he started to struggle with an officer.

The teen was taken to Bunbury Hospital for treatment and will be charged by summons for failing to stop and having no authority to drive.
