The mud run craze is up and running Down Under and arguably its most recognisable event - Tough Mudder - is bringing its brand of funny fitness west this weekend.
Set in the hills of Copley, in the Shire of Northam, Tough Mudder will put about 20,000 people through a 20km obstacle course designed to test their fitness, determination and teamwork.
Billed as a team endurance challenge, Tough Mudder was founded in the US in 2010 and has grown to include 53 events across five countries this year.
Celebrity trainer Lee Campbell said the event made for an exhilarating and rewarding workout.
"Some people don't have the best balance or are afraid of heights and here you can overcome those fears," he said.
"It's all about getting outside, meeting new people and not taking yourself too seriously."
