For most of us, cars such as the stunning Aventador LP, Lamborghini's new flagship model, are admired from afar.
Pictures in a magazine are as near as we get.
But this weekend West Australians will be offered a rare chance to get up close and personal with the latest offering from the Italian supercar maker.
The $750,000-plus two-door, two-seater sports car, which is propelled from 0-100km/h in 2.9 seconds by its 6.5-litre V12 and has a top speed of 350km/h, can be seen on stage and on display at Perth Motor Show Live.
And it will be in good company. The show starts at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre at 10am today.
It will also include an exciting range of exotic cars from Ferrari, Aston Martin, Jaguar and Maserati, as well as the latest offerings from most of the major manufacturers.
A tribute to the E-Type Jaguar, which turns 50 this year, and a celebration of 60 years of Porsche are on the program.
The show, which returns after a two-year absence, will also be open all day tomorrow and Sunday.
