Labor will not oppose a motion by the Abbott Government to apologise for the Craig Thomson scandal.
The Coalition says it wants parliament to issue an apology to the people it says were victimised by Mr Thomson in a speech he gave in 2012 under parliamentary privilege.
He most grievously misled the Parliament in an attempt to salvage his own political career.
The disgraced former Labor MP has also been referred to parliament's privilege's committee, which can impose fines and even a jail sentence for any breaches.
