The Great Ocean Road winds its way, for 243km, from Geelong to Port Fairy and offers one of the most incredible scenic drives in all of Australia. Featuring an abundance of native wildlife, unique accommodation, cafes, shops and restaurants, it often runs just metres from the oceans edge.
With the famous route featuring a myriad of deserted beaches, picturesque waterfalls and places for fishing and surfing it can be easy to miss something. There is, however, now a Great Ocean Road iPhone app that provides travellers with all the information needed to ensure nothing is missed.
The App has been developed by four designer/directors who share a passion for tourism, local knowledge, App design and information technology.
Co-director Craig Buckingham said the Great Ocean Road App incorporates fun design with valuable information. "It has been great fun designing and building this App, and that shows in the end product. It's clever, complete and full of extras like Dynamic Cache, which means you'll never be left stranded. If connectivity falls out, the info remains," he said.
Included in the App features are:
Details of 138 accommodation options and booking capabilities for 75 of those featured.
Detailed information about 180 different attractions;
Special hints on wildlife spotting;
Secret spots for fishing or surfing;
And the ability to plan a journey around Great Ocean Road events.
