The Perth Zoo has a new iPhone App that will enhance the experience for visitors and make it easier to make the most of a day at the iconic South Perth attraction.

GUIDE TO THE HUNTER VALLEY

The App, which is available for free from the iTunes store, features GPS guided maps, event schedules, and an annotated list of more than 100 zoo animals.

In the animal tab zoo visitors will find images, information about the animals and a map locator which shows where to find them. Included in the information are details about the animal's habitat, the population status and how people can help protect the species.

There are also fast facts and keeper notes so visitors can keep updated on the status of the animal and display.

Guests can also purchase a virtual treat for any of the animals, with the proceeds supporting the care of the animal and the upkeep of the zoo enclosures.
