The Art Series Hotels of Melbourne are bringing a whole new concept of design to the accommodation scene.
Inspired by the artwork of celebrated artists the three hotels embody the individual style and characteristics synonymous with each of the artists work.
The three hotels, The Cullen, The Olsen and The Blackman are named, respectively after Australian artists; Adam Cullen, Dr John Olsen and Charles Blackman.
Following the success of the three Melbourne establishments the Art Series Hotel Group will honour another of Australia's great artists with the opening of the fourth Art Series Hotel, in Adelaide.
The Watson, named after Indigenous painting master, Tommy Watson will open in Adelaide in September 2013 and, akin to its fellow hotels, will display the artist's work throughout the public spaces and in the private rooms. The new hotel will also offer guests private tours, of Watson's work, with the in-house art curator.
Art Series Hotels founder and CEO Will Deague said the Indigenous art was an important focus in the new hotel.
"We always wanted to include an indigenous artist in the Art Series Hotel Group and are delighted to have such a preeminent indigenous artist in our fold to educate our guests about this important aspect of artistic expression in Australia," he said.
The success of the Art Series Hotels has been reflected in a number of awards since its conception with The Cullen winning Gourmet Travellers' Best New Boutique Accommodation and TripAdvisor's Trendiest New Hotel. US Travel Hotlist, Conde Nast, listed The Olsen in 2011 and The Blackman received a TripAdvisor award for excellence in the same year.
The nine-storey Watson will feature views of the Adelaide Hills, the River Torrens and the CBD. Guests will also be able to take full advantage of the world class restaurants, the commercial business centre, artist in residence studio, pool, and health and recreation facilities. To make a booking at any of the Art Series Hotels visit www.artserieshotels.com.au .
