History of taekwondo at the Olympics:

The traditional Korean martial art of taekwondo made its Olympic debut in 2000 with triathlon at the Sydney Games.

Prior to the 2000 Games, taekwondo was a demonstration sport at Seoul 1988 and Barcelona 1992.

New Zealand did not compete in the event in 2000, but sent competitors to Athens and Beijing.

New Zealand has yet win a medal in taekwondo and in London their hopes rest with Vaughn Scott, Logan Campbell and Robin Cheong.
