Liz Cambage is a giant on the basketball court and the Australian Opals star has delivered a giant spray at “groupies” hanging out with American great Kobe Bryant.
In what could be perceived as a crack at Aussie swimmer Stephanie Rice, who was pictured trackside with Bryant on Tuesday night when Anna Meares won gold in cycling’s sprint final, Cambage fired up on Twitter.
“I love how Kobe has his wife with him at the Olympics, yet still surrounded by groupies!!!!" the 203cm 20-year-old tweeted.
“some women need to get a grip, ASAP!"
Rice, a prolific tweeter renowned for posting sexy photographs of herself on Twitter, did not buy into the debate.
It is believed Bryant and his wife Vanessa have separated, even though they were spotted together at the Games last week.
Vanessa filed legal documents to terminate their 10-year marriage last December. Bryant and Vanessa agreed on terms for a divorce but they have never been finalised.
They were spotted kissing on Valentine’s Day.
They have two daughters, Natalia, 9, and Gianna, 6.
It was reported that Vanessa was “embarrassed” and “furious” that Bryant had been photographed twice with random women at the Games, before she was snapped sitting next to Rice.
But the estranged couple were seen laughing together on Saturday night, with their daughters by their side, as they watched the final swim by 18-times gold medallist Michael Phelps.
Rice, who won three gold medals in Beijing in 2008, has a history of being in the limelight with her social life.
She dated WA Olympic swimmer Eamon Sullivan for two years and split with Wallabies rugby union star Quade Cooper late last year after a 12-month romance.
Cambage rose to prominence earlier in the Games when she performed a spectacular dunk, believed to be the first in women’s Olympic history.
The Opals will be relying on a big performance from her from midnight tonight Perth time when they clash with America in the semifinals.
