Western Bulldogs secured midfielder Koby Stevens from West Coast in a trade completed on Wednesday.
Stevens, 21, played 11 games in three seasons for the Eagles and found it difficult to command a regular spot amid tough competition for midfield places.
He played only four senior matches in 2012.
The Bulldogs will give up the No.44 pick - a late second-round choice - for Stevens.
Stevens had nominated the Bulldogs as his preferred destination. He is originally from Gippsland in Victoria, a successful hunting ground for the Bulldogs over many years.
List manager Jason McCartney said Stevens was a welcome addition to the Bulldogs’ midfield stocks.
“Koby is a high-quality person with outstanding training habits and will add depth to the club’s midfield,” McCartney said.
