WA win U16 national title

Western Australia is celebrating after winning the AFL under 16 national title in Sydney today.

WA dominated the carnival, beating Vic Metro by 30 points, South Australia by 19 points and Vic Country by 14 points.

WA coach Rob Wiley said the team's contested style of play proved the difference.

"They were really hard at the footy," Wiley said.

"They won the contested ball and they were brilliant with their tackling. That really stood out and the forward pressure was second to none."
