Brownlow medallist Shane Woewodin has taken the next step in his AFL coaching career by accepting a two-year appointment with Brisbane.
Woewodin made the announcement at the East Fremantle fairest and best count last night, which was won by Luke Weller.
After three years at the helm of the WAFL's Sharks, Woewodin guided the club with which he started his senior career into the finals.
Woewodin will serve as the Lions' midfield coach under another Brownlow medallist, Michael Voss.
President John McManus and Director of Football Con Trippi praised Woewodin for the work he had done over the past three seasons in ensuring the Sharks had all three grades featuring in September action this season.
Earlier, Weller took home the prestigious Lynn Medal with Jamie McNamara as runner up.
Mark McGough, Daniel Chidlow and utility Michael Warren rounded out the top five.
