Danny Green headed to Broome

Danny Green will be heading to Broome.

Broome is set to welcome four-time world champion Danny Green to the town in May, with the Green Machine set to hold a unique workshop with local boxing and martial arts enthusiasts.

The Australian sporting icon is affiliated with the ATI Martial Arts club in Perth, with the Broome branch persuading the former WBC super-middleweight champion to come to the Kimberley. Green will be at PCYC to train and teach adults and teenagers on Friday, May 2, providing practical boxing tips, a training session and a question-and-answer seminar.

The 40-year-old's professional record is 33 wins from 38 fights, 28 by knockout, and five losses.

He is widely acknowledged as among the best of his generation in the sport. ATI Martial Arts Broome instructor Tristan Johnston said attracting someone with Green's experience to the town was groundbreaking.

"Even just as an education tool, his knowledge will be invaluable," he said.

"Small country towns don't get exposure to this type of knowledge and experience, so to be able to get down and dirty with him is a rare thing.

"For Broome to get him is a very unique opportunity."

The cost of attending this rare event is $120.
