Fremantle have played safe in choosing experienced Kepler Bradley for a back-up ruck role instead of their No.1 pre-season draft pick Jack Hannath for the western derby on Saturday.
Hannath, 21, has been impressive in the lead-up to the 2013 season starting this weekend but has to settle for being an emergency for the match against West Coast at Patersons Stadium.
Michael Johnson might also be called on for some ruck work. Zac Clarke wasn't selected after he suffered a lower-leg injury at training during the week.
Danyle Pearce, recruited from Port Adelaide after 154 games for the Power, will be the only Docker who hasn't played for Fremantle before.
Likewise, Jamie Cripps is the only West Coast Eagle making his debut for the club. Cripps returned to WA from St Kilda for whom he played 16 games in two seasons.
Cripps, 20, has been named on the interchange bench.
West Coast have called on Scott Lycett to back up Dean Cox in the ruck, in the absence of injured Nic Naitanui. Lycett played three games last year.
Only two matches are being played this weekend. The 11-day round continues next Thursday night when Carlton and Richmond meet at the MCG and ends with the Hawthorn-Geelong clash at the MCG on Easter Monday.
