Stateside’s division one men’s team was unable to hold off a fiery Railways’ line-up despite a first-half lead at Tip Top Stadium on Friday night.

Both teams were neck-and-neck from the buzzer until Scorpions managed to push through to claim a two-point lead as they entered the interval, 21-19.

Scorpions’ Justin Mallard (12) and Scott Clayton (8) led the first-half charge by netting seven and six points respectively.

But Wolves returned to the last 20-minutes of play with a ferocity that allowed them to net a two-point win over Scorpions before the final call.

Ash Owen (14-points) and Paul Grant (10-points) were both double figure scorers for Wolves.
