Kookaburra Fergus Kavanagh said returning to world number one and a Champions Trophy gold medal would be the perfect way to forget the disappointment of the London Olympics.

Kavanagh and his Australian teammates were to play England in the quarter final stage last night of hockey’s first major tournament since the Olympics.

The Geraldton Hockey Association product said he was confident against England after recent good performances including the bronze medal match in London.
