Geale makes Aussie boxing history

Australian boxer Daniel Geale has lifted himself to the top of world boxing after unifying the the WBA and IBF super middleweight titles in a split-decision victory over Felix Sturm in Germany.

Two officials scored the fight 116-112 in Geale's favour while American Eugene Grant had it 116-112 to Sturm.

The win makes the 31-year-old the first Australian-born boxer to unify two titles in the same division and improves his record to 28-1 with 15 KOs.
