Respected trainer Dan Biddle has a dual chance of glory at Cannington on Saturday when he leads out Bramley to contest the Group 1 Sky Racing Perth Cup (530m) and also has Pillow Torque engaged in the Group 1 Sky Racing Galaxy (715m).
Despite her relative inexperience Pillow Torque rates as one of the big guns in the Galaxy.
The up-and-coming stayer has clicked up a notch or two since the start of the year with some eye-catching performances.
A short campaign in Melbourne yielded a track record at Sandown and her run of 41.54 to win her heat by over four lengths last weekend was also impressive.
In the final Pillow Torque will clash with a stellar line-up including the in-form So Seductive, fellow up-and-comer Bobby Boucheau as well as battle hardened veterans Dashing Corsair and Blue Lorian.
Biddle is confident that his greyhound can rise to the challenge.
"She'd want to be on her best behaviour but she's capable of beginning quickly and (if you're her rival) you wouldn't want her camped two or three lengths off you turning for home," he said.
Bramley rebounded to his best form during his Perth Cup heat as he overcame some early interference to score by a length in 30.57.
A talented, yet at times inconsistent, chaser Bramley can be brilliant on his night hasn't always lived up to his potential and Biddle admits that the greyhound faces a tough ask in the Perth Cup against a hot field.
"He's the type of dog that needs luck in his racing but he makes his own luck," the trainer said.
"He's a funny dog, he always has been, but he's just one those dogs that constantly surprises us.
"He's a competitive little bugger. If you had his siblings you'd be competitive too."
Both Pillow Torque and Bramley were bred by Biddle out of a bumper Big Daddy Cool-Abbadale Gold litter that also includes the likes of SA Oaks winner and Laurels finalist Kalden Athena.
Kalden Athena ran second in her Perth Cup and will also contest the Group 3 Consolation on the weekend.
