Boyanup reinsman Kim Prentice has picked up the drive on Inter Dominion champion Im Themightyquinn in tomorrow night's $35,000 Find Thirty Every Day Lord Mayor's Cup (2536m) at Gloucester Park.

He replaces Gary Hall Jr, who will honour a long-term agreement to compete in a Victorian invitation drivers' championship at Mildura tomorrow.

"I accepted the invitation last year before Quinnie's February program was known," Hall said yesterday.

"Mildura officials have allocated me drives in the championship's four heats and I'm also in three support races. Quinnie's working in winning style and I'm sure he'll be well driven by Kim Prentice."

Im Themightyquinn, trained by Hall's father Gary Sr, is the $3.60 favourite in Player's fixed odds market for the $750,000 Sydney Inter Dominion Championship (3000m) at Menangle on March 3.

He won the WA Pacing Cup (2536m) on June 11 and ran a close second to Dasher VC in the Fremantle Cup (2936m) a fortnight ago.

"The Lord Mayor's Cup will keep him ticking over in the lead-up to an Inters qualifying heat at Gloucester Park in two weeks," Hall Sr said.

"I can't fault the horse, but barrier three could be a problem on Friday. Quinnie's best when settled back, which we were able to do from second-line draws at his past two starts.

"He finished third at $1.60 after going forward from barrier three in Melbourne last month.

"When we try to restrain him from a front-line draw, he becomes fierce. I hope he can trail fast beginners and settle on Friday night. He'll lack nothing in horsemanship with Kim at the reins."

Prentice drove Im Themightyquinn to win the 2011 WA Pacing Cup when Hall Jr was suspended.

Reinsman Morgan Woodley has been booked by trainer Tony Svilicich to resume driving Mysta Magical Mach in the Lord Mayor's Cup.
