It could be a long season for three WAFL clubs if their 2011 fixtures go according to plan.

Swan Districts, Claremont and East Perth have all been invited to compete in the new Foxtel Cup, a Champions League-type series 16 clubs from the top State competitions.

The matches will be stage during the current WAFL season with the Swans, Tigers and Royals playing in the Foxtel Cup during their usual season byes.

However, should any of the WA teams make it to the grand final of the new series they will be required to play 25 home-and-away matches in 2011 - before they even think about the finals.

It has caused some headaches in WAFL headquarters, too, with provision having to be made in the local league draw for the possibility of Swans, Tigers or Royals advancing in interstate series.

During a period in the middle of the year, Swans are required to have three byes in six weeks, including the general break for the State clash with Queensland.

So to help you keep up to date when you're team is playing thewest.com.au has provided the full fixtures of both competitions.
