West Coast have decided against including first-year forward Fraser McInnes in this Sunday's top of the table clash against Sydney.

The 18-year-old was named as an emergency today, with the Eagles instead opting for veteran Adam Selwood, Mitch Brown, Tom Swift and Brad Sheppard as the club looks to cover a number of injuries and suspensions.

While Brown has primarily played as a defender, he has some senior experience in the forward line and may be used there as support for Jack Darling and Dean Cox, who have had even greater responsibility thrust upon their shoulders this week with the loss of Quinten Lynch (one-week ban) and Josh Hill (injury).

Selwood returns to the side after a dominant game for East Perth last week while himself returning from injury.

Rookie forward Murray Newman has been dropped after limited influence in the side's two-point win over North Melbourne last week.

Sydney have made only one change for the game with experienced defender Martin Mattner replacing former Adelaide halfback Tony Armstrong.
