Australia’s pace battery has suffered its first setback of the international season, with Nathan Coulter-Nile hurting his hamstring on Friday.

Coulter-Nile pulled up sore while sending down the sixth over of the one-day clash with South Africa, which included the prized scalp of Hashim Amla.

The 27-year-old left the field and was unable to return.

Coulter-Nile is set to undergo scans of his left hamstring.

It is unclear whether the current issue is a recurrence of the injury that Coulter-Nile suffered earlier this year while playing for IPL side the Delhi Daredevils.

Coulter-Nile underwent hamstring tendon surgery after the setback in April.

He was not in the selection mix for the opening Test against India, but is very much in contention for a World Cup berth.
