Ricky Ponting showed his class and experience in making 95 for Tasmania in the Ryobi Cup match with Western Australia at the WACA Ground today.

Ponting his 13 fours in his 105-ball innings, which gave Tasmania a great platform for their total of 6-307 off their 50 overs.

George Bailey (38 off 41 balls) and Jordan Silk (66 off 66) also set up the big total before James Faulkner (59 not out off 37) blitzed in the final 10 overs.

WA's four-pronged pace attack - all originally from NSW - bowled well but Tasmania's batting was excellent on the good batting pitch.

Off-spinner Ashton Turner, making his debut, took 1-32 off six overs.
