Former top-10 NBA draft pick Johnny Flynn will join the Melbourne Tigers as a replacement for underperforming import Kevin Braswell, who was sacked this morning.
Braswell, 33, has struggled to overcome niggling injuries this season and was handed his marching orders by coach Chris Anstey.
The Tigers have battled their way to a 1-4 record and came up with their first win yesterday, beating bottom club Townsville (0-7).
A number six pick in the 2009 NBA draft, Flynn spent time with Minnesota, Houston, Portland and Detroit in the big league.
The 23-year-old was recently released by the Pistons and his management reportedly sounded out opportunities at the Tigers through Anstey.Flynn will join his new teammates this week and could play his first game for Melbourne at home against Adelaide on Friday night.
