WA's representative wheelchair basketball team, Perth Wheelcats, have lost a brave bid to win the
national title in NSW at the weekend.
The Wheelcats had the tough draw of face tournament hosts, Wollongong, in a minor final and the Rollerhawks won 71-61.
However, a second-chance win on Saturday pushed the Wheelcats into the final. But Wollongong was again too strong, winning 79-59.
The team head back to Perth over the next 24 hours with member of the team, including captain Shaun Norris, now focused on the London Paralympics in August.
Next weekend WA's women's wheelchair basketball team is in action. The Western Stars will head to Dandenong in Victoria for their National Wheelchair Basketball League finals.Sponsored links
