Butler signs on with Eagles

West Coast premiership player Sam Butler will go around again next season, with the club today announcing a new deal for the veteran defender.

As flagged by The West Australian the 28-year-old signed a one-year extension.

Butler joins Josh Hill and Jamie Bennell in committing to the club this week.

The 2006 premiership player has played 120 games for West Coast since being drafted by the club in 2003.

He has suffered through a number of injuries and looked to be nearing the end of his career early this season before forcing his way back into the senior side and playing the final 11 games of the year, re-capturing some of his best form along the way.

Butler has also been made available to WAFL alignment club East Perth for the finals series, beginning against Subiaco on Sunday.
