Hawthorn have labelled Brian Lake's behaviour as "unprofessional" after he was issued with an infringement notice for being drunk in a public place on Saturday night.

The Hawks issued a statement which said the former Western Bulldogs defender - a two-time All_Australian who has yet to play for the Hawks - was leaving a hotel in Sorrento, on the Mornington Peninsular, with his wife after an evening with friends.

"The club considers Lake’s conduct to be unprofessional and he will be required to address the leadership group tomorrow," the statement read.
