Reigning Fremantle best and fairest Ryan Crowley faces a modified pre-season program after tearing his pectoral muscle during a training session.

The 28-year-old tagger has opted for a six-week adjusted training program over surgery and coach Ross Lyon says he should be fully fit for the start of next season.

It is unclear whether he will play any part in the NAB Cup.

“We expect Ryan to be able to maintain his fitness and be available for selection come round one of the season proper,” Lyon said.

Crowley joins captain Matthew Pavlich on the Dockers’ injured list after the skipper underwent off-season surgery for back, hip and achilles complaints.
