West Coast’s newest recruits Callum Sinclair and Jamie Bennell joined their teammates for pre-season training at McGillivray Oval this morning.

The mature-age pair, who were recruited by the club in Tuesday’s rookie draft, are being eased into training.

Five months into his recovery from a knee reconstruction Bennell jogged laps alongside Ash Smith, while Sinclair tried to keep pace with star forwards Mark LeCras and Mark Nicoski as they build up in their return from long-term injuries.

Senior players, including Dean Cox, Darren Glass and Andrew Embley, impressed in drills with the main group with Daniel Kerr away from the club after knee surgery last week.

Star ruckman Nic Naitanui tweeted this morning he was back in business, doing a gym session at the club while his teammates sweated it out at McGillivray.

Naitunui is recovering from groin surgery which could see him miss the beginning of the 2013 season.
