UPDATE: Ruckman Mark Seaby has missed out on a dramatic return to West Coast via today's AFL rookie draft.
With star big man Nic Naitanui in doubt for the start of the 2013 season following groin surgery, the Eagles were believed to be looking at an insurance policy should they be down a follower come round one.
But instead they chose 23-year-old Subiaco tall forward Callum Sinclair and Bunbury-born defender Jamie Bennell, 22, who had just been delisted by Melbourne after four seasons.
Seaby will play for Claremont in the WAFL.
The Eagles traded Quinten Lynch to Collingwood, also depleting their ruck stocks. The club has Dean Cox and Scott Lycett as the big men in the squad.
Seaby was delisted by Sydney two months ago after featuring in 18 matches in three seasons with the Swans. He missed out on selection for the club's victorious grand final line-up in September.
Previously, he had played 102 matches in six seasons for the Eagles, including the 2006 premiership. He
