West Coast youngster Murray Newman's AFL career is hanging by a thread this morning after a distastrous performance during the club’s two-kilometre time trial.
Newman reported for the annual pre-season hit-out this morning at the State Athletic Centre, just days after being charged with grievous bodily harm over an incident in Northbridge earlier this month.
The second-year player finished last, running the first two kilometres in 8 min 13 sec and being beaten by coach John Worsfold.
The group then the completed the second two-kilmetre race and Newman finished in 9 min 36 sec and was lapped.
Chris Masten ran the fastest time for the day after covering the first two kilometres in 6 min 5 sec.
New recuit Sharrod Wellingham, Cale Morton and Jamie Cripps all took part in the first sessions this morning.Sponsored links
