West Perth have bolstered their squad with the signing of former Carlton half-forward Rohan Kerr.

The 20-year-old came with a strong reference from former Falcons coach Darren Harris, who coached Kerr at VFL side Northern Blues last season.

Kerr will join former Vic Country under-18s representative Shaun Marusic and Swan Districts product James Embley at West Perth.

Marusic, key defender, had his VFL season with Frankston disrupted by a broken foot, but will add size and strength to the Falcons’ back line.

Embley, the younger brother of Eagles wingman Andrew Embley, played 17 league games for Swans before switching to West Perth.

West Perth lost Brent LeCras, Dustin Burns and Joel Rice to retirement at the end of the 2012 season and are also still negotiating with former AFL players Jay Van Berlo, Mark Seaby and Andrew Strijk
