West Coast have suffered a major blow in the build up to Friday night’s blockbuster game against Hawthorn with key defender Eric MacKenzie not travelling to Victoria with the team today.

Key forward Quinten Lynch and full forward Ashton Hams have also been left behind for the second week in a row.

MacKenzie was subbed out of last week’s game with a hamstring problem but was confident he would be fit when he spoke to media earlier this week.

He was looming as their matchup for Hawthorn star Lance Franklin.

Mitch Brown has flown as part of the 24-man squad and looks likely to come into the team.

Jacob Brennan, Lewis Stevenson and Bradd Dalziell were also part of the squad.

McKenzie and Matt Rosa are the two players missing from the team which defeated Collingwood.

Rosa is out for up to a month with a fractured collar bone.
