West Coast's defence will be boosted for the battle with North Melbourne by the return of Will Schofield.

The Eagles headed east for their Hobart clash on Saturday with a squad of 23 players and Schofield was in the travelling party after missing the past two matches with a hamstring strain.

Schofield comes into the team at the expense of Mitch Brown.

West Coast also took Sam Butler on the trip and he is expected to replace Brad Sheppard, who was left in Perth because of an ankle injury.

Koby Stevens has also been rewarded for his strong WAFL form with inclusion in the squad. But he was announced as an emergency when the team was lodged with the AFL this afternoon.

As expected the Eagles again overlooked Adam Selwood because of his arm complaint.

North Melbourne have stuck with the same 22 that defeated St Kilda last Sunday.
