BREAKING NEWS: West Coast forward Mark LeCras has hurt his knee at training today raising doubts that he will be available for the start of the 2012 AFL season.
LeCras was left writhing in pain after what appeared to be an innocuous shift of balance during a intra-club scratch match.
The 25-year-old was being chased by rookie squad member Callum Papertalk 10 minutes into the session.
LeCras was assisted from the ground with the aid of two trainers and wasn't expected to take his place in the Eagles' first-round NAB Cup series at Patersons Stadium on Sunday.
Eagles football operations manager Neale Daniher quickly followed LeCras into the changerooms and club management indicated their star would have scans on the right knee later today.
LeCras was able to put weight on the leg when exiting the ground but was clearly in a lot of pain.
He was initially named in the West Coast squad but was only expected to play one of the matches against either Fremantle or Essendon.

ReplyBad luck as he is a player worth going to see when at his best.
ReplyTerrible news although he did recover freakishly quickly from an adductor injury last year. Hopefully he does the same here.
ReplyOh well, at least we can be sure that the weegirls would have enough drugs on hand to ease his pain....
2 RepliesA great player to watch when he is on song. At West Coast knees go better with coke.
