Retro Margaret River residents will dine out to support those struggling to buy a home on Sunday.
Amaze’n will host the region’s first High Tea for Habitat to benefit charity Habitat for Humanity Australia, which organiser Kerry Brooks hopes could help break the “rent cycle” for a South West family.
“For a lot of families, renting is a really stressful experience,” Ms Brooks said.
“We hope the community can get involved and build a home for a struggling family, but it’s expected the family will put at least 500 hours work into building the home too.
“They will then have a home of their own with a low interest mortgage in which they can build up their equity and move into home ownership.”
The dining event, which would include a glass of champagne on arrival, an afternoon tea and raffles, would have a vintage floral and stripes theme, Ms Brooks said.
Tickets were $20 and could be purchased direct from Ms Brooks on 0457 600727.The high tea runs from 2pm to 5pm.
