Manjimup children got to grips with science at the Town Hall last week.
Picture by Tom Edwards: Kade Krispyn, 11, had fun during the Scitech show at Manjimup Town Hall on Thursday.
The touring science show Scitech came to town to give families the chance to get hands on with a variety of fun and educational exhibits.
A crowd of youngsters enjoyed shows which dealt with some of life’s intriguing puzzles such as why toast always lands butter-side down and why the sky is blue.
Scitech tour manager Rachel Farley said the idea of Scitech was to encourage children in regional areas to think scientifically.
‘‘Science works across all strands of life and our mission is to increase awareness and participation in science across all WA,’’ Ms Farley said.
Among the activities at the Scitech show were the crazy gyroscope suitcase, a labyrinth and a periscope, which allowed children to peer over walls and around corners.'The West Australian' is a trademark of West Australian Newspapers Limited 2012.
